We want Villa Menaluna to feel instantly comfortable to our guests, as if returning to the home of a favourite relative. A place where every piece of furniture feels as if its always been there, where the dining table and plates hold memories of many parties and gatherings over the years; familiar, yet offering a refreshing change from your normal life.
You’ll find an eclectic mix of vintage furniture, up-cycled pieces and practical modern conveniences to make your stay comfortable and easy.
Of course, WiFi is everywhere and every bedroom has USB charging points for your gadgets.
Cooking and dining
Yes, we could have purchased everything you’ll need for everyday use from a well-known furniture store, but we didn’t want to add to the glut of mass-produced items filling landfill sites.
Also important to us was to create a house with character and a unique feel to it, so we’ve scoured antique markets for high quality pre-loved items such as crockery, flatware and glassware for you to use and enjoy. We supply you with full sets of everything for snazzy dinner parties and summer dining on the terrace, as well as glasses, mugs and coffee cups for everyday use too.
Some things need to be practical however, so our saucepans and other cookware are new and sourced specifically to work with our energy-saving halogen hob, because life is too short not to cook well.
Being in Italy, there is of course a modern coffee machine and traditional stove-top maker too. If there is anything you need that you can’t find, just ask us.

For your comfort
There are some things you just can’t reuse or recycle to meet the needs of the modern traveller, so rest assured your comfort is always our primary concern.
Our feather duvets and pillows are comforting yet light enough for summer use (hypoallergenic available on request)
For colder evenings, the bed blankets are super-soft and will keep you snug (more on request) and you have two wood-burning fires to fire-up if needed
Our pool towels are soft and ultra-light Turkish hammam towels, designed to dry super-quick and to be washed at low temperatures
Electric floor-standing fans are provided in all bedrooms
Our boutique-hotel quality crisp white bed linens are 100% Egyptian percale cotton, ideal to keep you cooler in our hot summer months
All bedrooms are fitted with mosquito screens, closable shutters to keep the sun out and double-glazed windows with tilt mechanism provide ample air-flow on warm nights
The hot water is heated by solar energy and if needed, the house has a fully-fitted central heating system with vintage-style radiators in all rooms
All beds have accessible USB charging points on both sides
